Contract between John Mowat in Heugaland, on the one part, and John Mitchell of Westshoar, with James Mitchell of Girlesta, on the other part, for 24 merk udal land 9 pennies the merk in Westerheugaland, 17 merk land 9 pennies the merk in Stennas, the booth, strand, lodges and island of Vailla thereto pertaining, 8 merk land in Stow, together with their land in Tingon, 36 merk land in Hamnavoe, 6 merk land in Calsta, 6 merk land in Houll, together with 17 merk land in Uyea and the island thereto belonging, with its pertinents, lying within the parish of Northmavin, in favour of John Mitchell and James Mitchell, and to maintain their possession against the pretended possession by George Mowat of Hamnavoe, and his sons, Patrick Mowat and James Mowat, engrossed on 22 October 1712.
