A large collection of books and other printed material concerning Shetland, Orkney, Scotland, the Scandinavian countries and elsewhere, record publications, archival subjects, museum texts, etc., assembled by the Shetland Archives and Shetland Museum since 1966. It includes several bequests by individuals, as well as the Goudie and E.S. Reid Tait collections, transferred from the Shetland Library. The catalogue also contains detailed lists of contents of local and other periodicals such as the New Shetlander, Shetland Life, Shetland Fishing News, etc.
